Five Minute FridayRhythm

For some reason, I think that I will find a rhythm to this life.  But I have come to learn accept, that I just might be in a season of multiple rhythms.  I really enjoy songs that start off slow and then speed up and then slow down again.  I have always thought songs like that are a reflection of how life can be.  And maybe a better word for that is tempo…  but I feel that I have rhythm, and it sometimes has to slow down or speed up depending on the song that life is playing in a particular season.

Three little kids, my husband, visitors in and out of my home, summer interns, relationships here in Peru, relationships back home, living as church, the library program, trying to exercise, finding time to be still and know.  I try to keep up.  I try to “find my rhythm” in this crazy season.  I love comparing life to a song.  “The rhythm is gonna get you” is very appropriate at times, but I am thankful that God is my melody… “but be filled with the Spirit as you sing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs among yourselves, singing and making melody to the Lord in your hearts giving thanks to God the Father at all times and for everything in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

  1. Wow, you have so much going on. It’s truly a blessing when we get down on our knees before our Father. He seems to give it back in so many ways. He can do so much with our time than what we can do.

    Thanks for sharing

  2. You’ve described the rhythm of life so well, starting as if a slow song, speeding up, then slowing dow again. It truly is about learning to navigate multiple rhythms, all with His grace. Blessings!

  3. The reason you love those varied songs is the same reason to love that variety in your life! To everything a season, and to each season its own rhythm. Lovely words.
